Tis the post-season to feel the blues

The New Year is underway and the hubbub of the holidays are behind us. But are they really behind us? Why do we feel the blues? Many went back to their hometown to visit their parents. It’s always a special trip. Yet as the years have passed, we have noticed that our aging parents are moving much slower and have health issues that cause us worry about them. And that nagging worry sticks with us throughout the year only to be amplified when the next holiday season rolls around.

Perhaps this year’s visit was more troublesome than ever. And you know you need to take action. It’s simply not safe for Mom and/or Dad to live alone anymore. All the sibs agree, but it falls upon you to take action.

What do you do? You love your parents and want them to be in a safe, warm, fun and caring environment. Finding a new community can be complicated. And then there’s selling the house and deciding what to do with possessions they won’t need in their new home.

So many decisions. So many details. So little time.
